1. E-Logistics Collaboration Scheme

The e-Logistics Collaboration Scheme aims at helping the logistics communities to run their business in an IT-efficient way. The Scheme is treated as a central point to coordinate e-logistics deployment between solution providers and users of various sectors. It offers a wide range of logistics-related consulting services including e-logistics project planning, supply chain strategy formulation, warehouse planning and automation, e-delivery and distribution system, import/export document flow automation, etc. This Scheme is especially helpful to the SMEs of the logistics industry.

With a long-term goal to make Hong Kong become a world-class e-Logistics hub, the Scheme promotes and supports the cross logistics community e-platform ¡V Digital Trade and Transportation Network (DTTN) ¡V a government initiative managed by the Hong Kong Logistics Development Council. In order to let SMEs adopt DTTN easily, the Scheme promotes e-Logistics concepts via promotional events including conference, forum, study mission and training, and it also offers related collaboration work and services.

2. E-Customs Popularity Program

Business opportunities between Hong Kong and Mainland China have been increasing after China joined WTO. Apparently, there is an increase in goods volume of processing trade and import/export. However, some enterprises do not have a comprehensive customs management system to meet the complex regulations of the China Customs, and consequently, they encounter problem of goods delay or even cash penalty. In other words, the customs operations become a gap within the whole supply chain even though there exists an effective sales and production control system.

Hong Kong Productivity Council and Sino-Gate Technology Limited have announced the E-Customs Popularity Program to raise the awareness of the importance of customs operation. We also promote China Customs Declaration System (CCDS) as a total solution to address the process automation and standardization in handling China customs operation, including registration, declaration, enquiry, statistics, analysis, and risk management.

In the future, we will further enhance CCDS to connect with systems of related government parties, including Customs of Guangzhou, Huangpu, and Shenzhen, Ministry of Foreign Trade & Economic Departments, and the data centers of the China Port, etc. We will also develop the interface with various IT systems like ERP / MRP II / SCM as an "information bridge" between enterprises and government.
